Fascinating Ted Talk positing in part that the brain’s main function is to allow us to be adaptable and complex in our movements.
Relevant in our study of both Mov Nat and Yoga where we play with a variety of complex and natural movements… do these exercises keep our brains healthy? and is this body-brain connection what keeps us fully vibrant?

Let’s discover our true nature while exploring the paradise of Southern Nicaragua. In this yoga retreat, we will dive into hatha and vinyasa practices intended to illuminate our true selves. We’ll also venture outside to explore how nature can nurture your inner being allowing yourself to shine in the world.
The retreat will include: Two yoga practices per day that will incorporate sadhana (daily ritual), vinyasa (flow), pranayama (breath techniques), mantra and meditation. We will focus on yoga philosophies intended to aid in living our dharma (our true path). We will also take our practice outside with some Mov Nat inspired workshops. Mov Nat is a a mindful way of reclaiming our natural human movement capabilities through play outdoors.

A friend recently asked my thoughts on breathing technique and running. That got me thinking. Here is the result: I believe you can use the breath, like you do with yoga, to perform any activity with ease…
This is my article for Yoga for Movement Disorders. The Spasmodic Torticollis Foundation (SPF) wanted a focus on the benefits of Yoga for improving balance… but balance means much more than standing on one leg… Check it out!
